Earl E. Fredericks

Earl E. Fredericks was born to eternal rest, Sunday, October 9, 2011.

Family visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at First Lutheran Church.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Stacy Grau officiating. The service will be followed by a gathering at the church dining room.

Inurnment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research, National Psoriasis Foundation or First Lutheran Church. Cards and memorials can be sent to Dave and Sylvia Fredericks at 900 E. Fillmore St. Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Earl was born June 18, 1923 in Hampton, Iowa to John D. and Emelia Fredericks. He married Lucille Hootman on September 14, 1944. She passed away on April 18, 2008.

He graduated from Hampton High School located in Hampton, Iowa in 1941. Earl moved to Davenport, Iowa in 1943 and worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during WWII. Later he worked 9 years at Englehart Manufacturing as a machinist. In 1952 he went to work for Mast Development for 11 years. In 1964, he returned to the Rock Island Arsenal as a model maker in Rodman Lab and also in the tool room. He retired from the Arsenal in 1986 after 26 years.

Earl belonged to the Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years and was a member of the finance committee.

Survivors include sons: Rick (Sheila) of Hartland, WI, David (Sylvia) of Fairfield, 4 granddaughters: Sarah Fredericks of Denton, TX, Stephanie (Shaun) Callan of Hartland, WI, Rachel Fredericks of Seattle, WA and Natalie (Bradley) Sayers of Milwaukee, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Lucille of 64 years, a brother: Roy and a sister: Ruth.
