Earl W. Hodge, age 95, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Parkview Care Center, Fairfield, IA.

Per Earl’s request his body has been cremated.

Memorial service will be 10:30 am, Friday, October 10, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Frosty Van Voorst officiating. Burial of cremains will be 10:00 am, Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Laurel Hill Cemetery,3801 E Court, Des Moines, IA.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home.

Earl was born July 12, 1919 to Chalmers and Laura Mae (Sinn) Hodge in East Pleasant Plain, IA. He married Mary Fogelson May 24, 1947 and she passed away May 1, 1998. Earl married Barbara Wilson April 3, 1999 at Hope Lutheran Church.

Earl served in the Army during WWII. He was a US postman for 35 years at the Des Moines office. In 1999 Earl and Barb moved to Agency and lived there until 2007 when they moved to Fairfield. He attended Hope Lutheran Church.

Earl is survived by his second wife, Barbara Wilson - Hodge; one son, Charles (Sharon) Hodge of Rogersville, MO; one daughter, Sherry (Richard) Olson of Ames, IA; one step daughter, Bonnie Gregory of Chapel Hill, NC; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy (Tami) Hodge of Rogersville, MO and Jennifer Hodge of Rogersville, MO, Lori Olson of Ames, IA, Karen (Adam) Sherman of Sioux Falls, SD; and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Mary Hodge; parents; two sisters, Laura Glasgow and Velma Nuckolls.
