Earl G. 'Gordy' Rodibaugh, age 86, formerly of Fairfield, IA, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA.

His body will be cremated. Graveside memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating.

A family visitation and luncheon will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield following inurnment.

Earl Gordon 'Gordy' Rodibaugh was born December 9, 1922, in Centralia, MO to Charles and Hattie (Horn) Rodibaugh. He graduated from Libertyville High School and the School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Rodibaugh served his country in the Army Air Corp from 1941-1945, and was called back to active duty with the United States Airforce in 1950. He was united in marriage with Dorothy Swanson in Libertyville, IA in 1943.

Mr. Rodibaugh was employed at the First National Bank of Fairfield from 1948 until he retired as President in 1985. He served on the Iowa Bankers Association Board of Directors and Chairman of Group 11 for SE Iowa. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion, Eagles Lodge and Walton Club. Mr. Rodibaugh enjoyed his family, and he was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and was an avid reader. He and Dorothy moved to the Bartels Retirement Community in Waverly in September 2003.

Surviving Mr. Rodibaugh is his wife of 66 years, Dorothy, of Waverly, IA, and their children and families: Cindy Rector and husband Dan of Waverly, Doug Rodibaugh and wife Deb of Littleton, CO. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Tim Rector and wife Melissa of Ankeny, IA, Kent Rector and wife Stacey of Mediapolis, IA, Nick Rector of West Des Moines, IA, Scott Rodibaugh and wife Jessie of Littleton, CO, Kurt Rodibaugh and Alexandra Rodibaugh, both of Littleton; as well as three great-grandchildren: Isabella and Addyson Rector of Ankeny, and Ruby Rodibaugh of Littleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
