Edith Ruth Ann Foreman

Edith "Ruth" Ann Foreman age 65 of Batavia, Iowa passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield, with Pastor James Wotherspoon officiating. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

Edith "Ruth" Ann Foreman was born in Libertyville, Iowa on January 15, 1945 to Stephen Wesley and Edith V. Rutherford Berndt. She married Charles Wayne Foreman on Sept. 15, 1964 at the Peoples Church in Batavia, Iowa. He passed away on Sept. 15, 1985.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Batavia. She served as City Clerk in Batavia for several years as well as in Libertyville. Ruth was a farmwife and homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Jefferson County Pork Producers, the Tri T of Batavia, and served on the board of directors. Ruth loved being City Clerk and having people of the community come in and visit. She also enjoyed quilts and time spent with her friends.

Ruth is survived by her son Heath Foreman of Batavia, 1 brother: Wayne Andrew Berndt of Batavia and 1 Sister: Lois Irene Greiner of Batavia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Charles W. Foreman.
