Funeral services were held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairfield. Rev. Mark Brase officiated. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Elsie Olga Luedtke was born April 23, 1912, the daughter of Earnest Theodore and Augusta (Schroeder) Luedtke. Elsie grew up near Four Corners, northeast of Fairfield and attended Ft. Madison Business College in Ft. Madison, IA. She was employed by the M.A. Ford Manufacturing Company in Davenport for several years.

Elsie returned to Fairfield in 1960 and was a secretary with Philco in Fairfield before joining the Jefferson County Auditor's Office. She retired in 1979 after 13 years and was the Deputy County Auditor at the time of her retirement. Elsie was a charter member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Elsie is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families, including Gene Luedtke of Fairfield, Edna Scully of Ottumwa, IA ,Dean Anderson of New London, IA, Raymond Anderson of Champaign, IL, Delbert Luedtke of Peoria, IL, Tony Luedtke and Donnie Luedtke. She was deeply loved by her great-nieces and -nephews.

Predeceasing Elsie are her parents, two brothers: August Luedtke and Martin Luedtke and two sisters: Anna Anderson and Helen Luedtke.
