Emory A. Letts, age 65, of Richland, IA, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 in an accident at home.

Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, June 24th, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Emory Alen Letts was born in Douds, IA on July 21, 1943 to Roger R. and Clella (Coil) Letts. He was united in marriage with Jean Ann Daub in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, IA on August 22, 1964. He was employed at Iowa Malleable Iron Company, Doolin Plumbing, and Hackert Tree Service. Emory was a regular at the CoffeeClub in Richland, and he was extremely well-known in the SE Iowa auction community.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, of Richland, and their children and families: Lori Sue Paxton of Wayland, IA, and Raymond Roger Letts, of Fairfield, IA. Emory was blessed with six grandchildren: Cassandra Pickering, Amber Hoadley, Cody Paxton, Mercedes Letts, Miranda Letts, and Larissa Paxton; and two greatgrandchildren. Survivors include his siblings and their families: Lillie (Gene) Mulberry of Indian Trails, NC, Terry (Barbara) Letts of Olathe, KS, Betty (Junior) Stutz of Kahoka, MO, Faye Crow of Issaquah, WA, Mary (Robert) Keller of Fairfield, IA; and sisters-in-law: Nedra Letts of Coal Valley, IL, and Jean Letts of Apache Junction, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-grandson Michael Hoadley, and brothers: Judson, James, David and Marion.
