Enid M. Hawthorne

Enid M. Hawthorne, age 91, of Keosauqua, passed away December 25, 2008 at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, IA.

Visitation with the family will be held 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Fell Cemetery in Libertyville, IA.

Enid Mae Hawthorne was born in Libertyville, IA on November 25, 1917 to Samuel and Margaret (Beale) Pearson. She attended local schools and graduated from college with diploma in education. Enid taught school for the Fairfield School District and Round Prairie Rural School, retiring from teaching in 1969. She was united in marriage with Earl B. Hawthorne in Donnelson, IA. He preceded her in death July 6, 1976.

Her sons and their families survive Enid: Lester Hawthorne and David Hawthorne, both of Farmington, IA; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sharon Stone, and two brothers, Wilber and Harry Pearson,and 1 sister Ruth Pearson.
