Eugene Wayne Kemp, age 83 passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at his home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.
Graveside service will be at 12 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Mark Haverland officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Senior Center. Cards and memorials can be sent to 305 S. 29th Street, Apt. C, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
Eugene was born on August 28, 1929 in Huntoon, Saskatchewan, Canada to Paul E. and Cecilia Ohms Kemp. He married Rachel Wiley on August 23, 1953 at the Methodist Church in Leando, Iowa.
He served in the United States Army from 1948-1952. Eugene worked for American Chain and Cable and also for 25 years at Kemp Christmas Trees with Rachel.
Eugene is survived by his wife: Rachel of Fairfield, 3 children: Neal (Sue) Kemp of Aurora, Illinois, Alan Kemp of Urbandale and June Kemp of Ottumwa, 1 sister-in-law: Catherine Kann of Fairfield and 4 grandchildren: Stephen (Jennifer) Kemp, Jennifer Kemp, Nikolas Kemp and Samuel Kemp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers: Howard Kemp, Emory Kemp, Carroll Kemp, Dwight Kemp and Paul Kemp, 2 sisters: Arla Mae Baird and Thelma Kramasz and 1 sister-in-law: Joann Wiley.
