Everett M. Klein

There will be an open visitation Sunday, April 3, 2005 from 1:00-6:00 PM

Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Monday, April 4, 2005 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family requests memorials to the First United Methodist Church or the Trojan Booster Club.

Everett Klein was born on May 1, 1922 in Leighton, Iowa, the son of Tunis and Tonie (Brand) Klein. Although he lived most of his life in Fairfield, he graduated from Pella High School and he was a U.S. Veteran of WWII, serving with the Seabee's from 1942-1945.

He married Nellie Barnes on July 20, 1947. They were the parents of two children.

Everett was a farm equipment salesman with the John Day Rubber & Supply Company of Omaha, NE. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge #1192 in Fairfield. He helped originate the Fairfield Trojan Booster Club.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie, son Scott & Peggy Klein of Minnetonka, MN and a daughter, Kay Klein of North Liberty, IA. Everett was grandfather to 3 grandchildren and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Gilbert, John & Marvin Klein and 2 sisters; Margaret Wanders and Jane Winegar.
