Everett Watson

George "Everett" Watson age 94, of Fairfield passed away February 25, 2012 at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday February 29, 2012 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Burial with a flag presentation will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 28, 2012 at the Behner Funeral Home.

George "Everett" Watson was born June 13, 1917 to Orla and Lena Tomkins Watson in Stockport, Iowa. He married Doris Irene Heckenberg on March 9, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri. She survives.

Everett has lived in Fairfield since 1968. He was a farmer for many years and he worked for Dexter Co. from 1968 to 1979. Everett's hobbies and interest were boating and water skiing, watching grandkids in their sporting events, doing mechanical work, visiting with family and friends, and being a care giver to many. Everett was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. He served during WW II in the US Army. He was called home early, due to family illness, to run the family farm.

Everett is survived by his wife: Doris Watson of Fairfield, 1 daughter and spouse: Judy (Dan) Buttery of Fairfield, 2 grandchildren: Brian Watson Buttery, and Curtis Scott Buttery, 4 great-grandchildren: Hayden , Brighton , Lilly and Simon, 1 sister: Crystal Westercamp of New London, Ia. and brother-in-law: Reid Campbell of Douds, Ia.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Vern and Elvin Watson and 2 sisters: an Infant Ruth and Velma Campbell.
