Ezra E. Fritts

Ezra E. Fritts age 90, of Fairfield, IA, passed away January 18, 2009 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, January 23, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ezra E. Fritts was born August 19, 1918 in McCool, MS to Henry D. and Lorena (Norris) Hunt. She was united in marriage with John Edward Fritts Sr. July 6, 1944 at his parents home. He died September 23, 1998.

Ezra lived most of her life in the Fairfield area. She worked as a bookkeeper in the Fritts Auto Parts store. Ezra was a registered nurse at Jefferson County Hospital and Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. She was a member of the VFW and the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliaries. Ezra was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and a 50 Year member of Ladies Guild.

Ezra is survived by her children and their families: son John E.(Susan) Fritts Jr. of Fairfield; and two daughters: Kay (Hugh) Davis of Ulupakakua, HI, Ramona (Richard) Stites of Cottonwood, AZ, two step-daughters Sandra Jo Yarnell of Birmingham, IA, and Barbara McClellan of Sycamore, IL. Ezra was blessed with ten grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. Survivors include her sister, Mavis Stephenson of Flushing, MI, and two brothers; Douglas Hunt of Houston, TX and Wayne Hunt of Brandon, MS.

Ezra was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Ed; two brothers, Bernard and Marlin Hunt, and one sister, Hazel Hunt.
