Fern Lucille Burlingame Mesecher

Fern Lucille Burlingame Mesecher, age 90 of Argyle, passed away October 5, 2011 at Montrose Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Bethel Bible Church near Donnellson with Pastor Jamey Stout officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Cards and memorials may be sent to Kathy Weber at 2049 275th St. Argyle, Iowa 52619.

Fern was born November 20, 1920 in La Harpe, Illinois to Ralph and Lula Delaney Burlingame. She married Philip Mesecher on November 30, 1940 in Burlington. He passed away July 26, 2006.

Fern was a homemaker. She loved to crochet, quilt, sew, go on picnics and fish. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, she always had homemade pie and homemade ice cream for anyone that stopped by to visit and she made everyone that entered her home, feel special. She was a member of the Argyle Presbyterian Church.

Fern is survived by 6 children: Larry Mesecher of West Burlington, Barry Mesecher of Poe, West Virginia, Steven (Patricia) Mesecher of Montrose, Stanley (Janet) Mesecher of Roseboro, North Carolina, Kathleen (Dean) Weber of Argyle and Juliene (Alfred) Spiker of Montrose, 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years: Philip, 2 sisters: Ethel and Mabel, 3 brothers: Holbert, Ralph and Ross and 1 great-grandchild: C.J. Barefoot.
