Floyd H. Barcus

Floyd H. Barcus, age 71 of Packwood, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Friends may call at Behner Funeral Home Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:30 AM, Monday, March 3, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, with Pastor Frosty VanVoorst officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Floyd Harmon Barcus was born in Cedar Rapids, IA July 16, 1936 to Ira Isaac and Josephine (Stolba) Barcus. He graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Floyd was united in marriage with Barbara Jean Brown March 13, 1964. They were the parents of two children: Tina and Toni. Barbara passed away January 18, 1999.

Floyd retired as a truck driver for Dickey's Transport in Packwood, IA, and he was a member of the Packwood Christian Church.

He is survived by his children and their families: Tina Spencer of Bedford, KY, and Toni Barcus of Fairfield, IA. Floyd was blessed with three grandchildren: Rachel Schwarz, Isaac Schwarz, and Darryl Spencer. Survivors include two sisters: Pat Barnard of Des Moines, IA, and Deborah Glover of Cedar Rapids, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters: Jacqueline Wassmer and Carol Sue Forde.
