Floyd "Butch" Melton, Jr., age 51 on January 6, 2007 at University Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, MO from complications of cancer.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Butch was born January 13, 1955 in Fairfield, IA to Floyd E. Melton, Sr. and Barbara Kitchen. He graduated from Fairfield High School with the Class of 1974. He was a member of the FHS Track Team, and still holds the Boys Relay Team record after 30+ years.
Butch was employed as chef at Rusk Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, MO. His hobbies included woodworking, sports, snow skiing, and camping. Butch will also be remembered as someone who loved animals, especially his dog, Missy. Butch will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Butch is survived by his mother, Barbara of Columbia, MO, and his sisters and their families: Sherry Briner of Columbia, MO, and Linda Rogers-Orte of Fairfield. Butch is uncle to: Robert (Amy) Melton, Melissa Briner, Brandy Melton, and Julia (Greg) Hall. Butch is great-uncle to Cameron, Colby and Kayla Melton, Brayden Melton-Duemmel, and Jacob and Savannah Hall.
Butch was preceded in death by his father.
