Frances Cordelle Litton

Frances C. Litton, age 95, of Fairfield, IA, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, March 16 at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Interment will be in Glasgow Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Central Iowa or Glasgow Cemetery. Cards and memorials may be sent c/o:

Frances Cordelle Litton was born in Mediapolis, IA on September 1, 1913 to Louis and Frances (Blake) Earnest. She was united in marriage with James W. Litton in Mediapolis on June 3, 1930. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1971.

Frances was a devoted wife and mother. She was employed at Universal Producing Company, and in the housekeeping department at the Jefferson County Hospital. She was a member of the Glasgow Methodist Church.

Frances is survived by her children and their families: James Litton of Fairfield, William Litton and wife Kay of Iowa City, IA, Jack Litton and wife Maxine of Fairfield, and Robert Litton and wife Reta of Iowa City. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Jerry Litton, Roger Litton, Sarah Nachtman, Lorie Jackson, Julie Fritz, and Pam Baumann; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Charles Earnest, Elizabeth Hisel, an infant brother and an infant sister.
