Frank Sylvester Aplara, age 77, passed away November 22, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. According to family wishes the body has been cremated.
A gathering for family and friends will 5:00PM to 8:00 PM Saturday November 29, 2008 at Lockridge School in Lockridge, IA. Burial of cremains at a later date.

Frank S. Aplara was born October 25, 1931 in Glasgow, IA. and attended Glasgow country school. Frank married Shirley Ann Reinks on December 19, 1954 in Kahoka MO. She died March 21, 2003.
Frank was employed at many rock quarries in the area. He worked construction and operated heavy equipment for Abe Vorhies for 12 years. He later owned an operated Aplara Pmbing in Lockridge. Frank was US Air Force veteran serviving in the Korean Conflict. His hobbies include fishing and hunting, reading western books, and drinking coffee with friends.
Frank is survived by his four children and their families: Pete Aplara of Lockride, IA , Bill and Judy Aplara, also of Lockridge, IA, George and Cathy Aplara of Fairfield, IA, John Aplara of Glasgow, IA, and a special friend, Deb Peiffer of Lockridge, IA. Frank was blessed with ten grandchildrenn and five great grandchildren. Survivors include his sister, Mae Davis of Des Moines, Ia.
Frank was preceeded in death by his parents, and wife.
