Gale Robert Lyon

Gale "Mike" Lyon, 87, of Fairfield, passed away at his home, Monday, April 10, 2006.

Funeral Services were 10:30 AM, Friday, April 14, 2006 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial followed in Winchester Cemetery.

Gale Robert "Mike" Lyon was born January 20, 1919 in Stockport, Iowa, the son of Sam and Mamie (Logan) Lyon. He married Evelyn Asire in 1946. She passed away January 13, 2005.

Mike was a US Army veteran of WWII, and a graduate of Parson College. He and Evelyn made their home in Fairfield where Mike was self-employed as a carpenter, specializing in wood-working. Mike was a member of Fairfield American Legion Post #47.

Mr. Lyon is survived by his sister, Virginia Phillips of Birmingham, Iowa. Survivors include three nephews and two nieces and their families.

Mr. Lyon was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, one sister, Pauline and an infant brother, Woodrow.
