Gene L. Coleman, age 75 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A Memorial Servicewas held at 2:00 PM. with Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating.
The family requests memorials to be made to Noah's Ark in Gene's memory.

Gene L. Coleman was born July 2, 1931 in Salem, Iowa, the son of Stephen E. and Iva E. (Young) Coleman. He lived all his life in Van Buren County and in Birmingham for 29 years.
Gene married Velma Droz on May 15, 1966. They are the parents of three children: Dena Jean, Jeri Lynn and Bobi Jean. Gene and Velma later divorced.
Gene was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a farmer and was also employed at Chain & Cable, Fairfield Lumber and he mowed yards. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Gene is survived by his children and their families: Dena & Dave Headley of Batavia, IA, Jeri Lynn Rowland of Fairfield and Bobi Jean Gardner of Katy, TX. Gene has four grandchildren: Jason Rowland, Wyatt Rowland, Joshua Gardner, and Jordan Gardner. He has one great-grandson, Zane Evan Kempf.
Survivors include two brothers and two sisters: Kenneth W. Coleman of Farmington, Gary H. Coleman of Fairfield, Mary Ellen Harwood of Hot Springs Village, AR, and Darla A. Casady of Cantril.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Leslie L., Keith E., Charles D., and Marvin W., Coleman.
