Garry D. Myers, age 50, of Keosauqua, IA, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in Keosauqua.

Visitation with the family will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 25, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield with Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Gerald 'Garry' Dean Myers was born May 11, 1957 in Ft. Campbell, KY, the son of Keith and Dixie (Hootman) Myers. He attended Van Buren schools and was a 1975 graduated of Van Buren High School. He attended Muscatine Community College and received his diploma in 1977.

Garry was united in marriage with Julie (Williams) Stribling in Virginia, IL October 19, 2002. He lived most of his life in the Keosauqua community and was manager of Golden Furrow Fertilizer in Mt. Union, IA where he was employed since 1981. Garry was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and enjoyed competing at American Quarter Horse Shows.

Garry is survived by his wife, Julie, of Keosauqua, and his children and their familes: Veronica Eighmey and husband Brandon of Osceola, IA, Justin Myers of New London, IA, Jacque F. Myers of Wichita Falls, TX, Dustin Lee Birch of Camp LeJeune, NC, and Callie Stribling, of Keosauqua. Garry was blessed with two grandchildren. Survivors include his parents, Keith and Dixie Myers of Keosauqua, mother-in-law, Mary C. Williams of Jacksonville, IL, and siblings: Deborah Stortz and husband Jim of Erie, IL, twin brother Jerry Myers and wife Nicki of Keosauqua, and Sheryl Pitts and husband Nick of Kirksville, MO.
