Glen Ellis Helterbran was born August 18, 1918 in rural Hillsboro, IA. He was the son of Guy Clifton and Weltha Edith (Rowe) Helterbran. He married Helen Pauline House in the Hillsboro Baptist Parsonage on November 28, 1948. They were the parents of two sons.
Glenn graduated from Hillsboro High School and lived all his life in the community. He was a farmer and a mechanic at Parker & Bonnett John Deere Store in Stockport. Glenn was also a plumber and electrician with M.M. Doan of Hillsboro, retiring in the 1960's. He was then self-employed working odd jobs until his health failed. He was a member of the Hillsboro Baptist Church.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Helen, two sons and their families; Eugene Helterbran & Patsy Skaggs of Keosauqua, IA and Gary & Caroline Helterbran of Hillsboro, IA. Glenn was grandfather to Michelle Droz, Julie Bartholomew, Sarah, Carry & Crystal Helterbran. Glenn had six greatgrandchildren, as well as a sister-in-law, Evelyn Helterbran.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harry Helterbran.
