Harold Dean Norton

Harold Dean Norton, age 83, passed away peacefully January 16, 2014.

Funeral Services will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., January 20, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home.

Harold Dean Norton was born April 27, 1930 to Floyd M. and Gladys "Hazel" (Bain) Norton in Wayland, Iowa. On September 25, 1949, he married Bernice Evelyn Greiner at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She passed away April 26, 2011. They lived in Lockridge for 6 years before moving to Fairfield in 1959.

Harold along with his wife and family owned and operated Norton's Service Center of Fairfield for 42 years. He was a member of the Elks (lifetime), Eagles, Walton Club and First Lutheran Church. Harold was a strong presence in his family, business and community.

He is survived by his three children, Deborah Carlson, Richard Norton and Alan (Linda) Norton; four grandsons, Casey and Christopher Carlson, Ben and Cody Norton; 3 siblings, Dortha Landrum of Danville, IA, Max (Ruth) Norton of Yarmouth, IA, and Richard (Bev) Norton of Aledo, IL.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 1 brother, Rex Norton.
