Harold L Wiggins, age 87 formally of Packwood, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Arbor Court, Mt. Pleasant, IA.
Visitation for family and friends will be 9:00 am – 10:30 am, Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Packwood Cemetery with military rites and Pastor Frosty Van Voorst officiating.

Harold was born July 27, 1927 in Hedrick, IA to Ray and Anna (Sanchez) Wiggins. He married Loretta M. Bonner, August 6, 1954 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. This year they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Harold served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for Dickey’s in Packwood, truck sales manager at Vaughn Automotive in Ottumwa, IA, farmed around Packwood, IA and worked part time at Tractor Supply in Fairfield, IA. He was the mayor of Packwood for 22 years and served on City Council for 6 years. Harold enjoyed gardening and yard work. The outside jobs didn’t stop at home he would continue doing various jobs for the city like working on the streets, pushing snow and mowing city property. Harold was a member of the American Legion, Eagles and lifetime member of the VFW.
Harold is survived by his wife, Loretta Wiggins of Mt. Pleasant, one daughter, Tina Wiggins of Donnellson, IA; one son, Gerald Wiggins of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two sisters, Pearl Tygart of Fairfield, IA and Marilyn (Delmar) Elder of Ottumwa, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters, Naomi Schark, Gladys Estes, Fern Noe, Doris Wimpset and Frances Clossen; 3 brothers, Harlan, Warren and Richard Wiggins.
