Harry J. Kirchwehm , age 91, formerly of Fairfield , IA, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Wesley Halcyon House in Washington, IA.
Visitation and a Masonic Service will begin at 1:00 PM, prior to the funeral service, which will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Reverend Metz will officiate. Burial will be at later date in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
The family requests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the First United Methodist Church. Cards and memorials may be sent c/o:

Harry J. Kirchwehm was born in Springfield, OH on November 3, 1917 to Harry J. & Sara (Bevitt) Kirchwehm. Harry graduated from Springfield High School in Ohio, and continued his education at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH, and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi. He married Ruth Wiley February 26, 1944 in New Rochelle, NY. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in February of this year. To all his friends and family, he was known as Tim.
Harry was employed by Harper Brush in Fairfield as Executive VP.
His memberships include Masonic (Clinton) Lodge AF & AM # 15, past president of Kaaba Shrine Temple, past president of Fairfield Rotary Club, Fairfield Country Club, Veteran Affairs Commission Jefferson County, past president of Fairfield Manufacturers Association and was a member/trustee of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. Harry served in US Army Corp of Engineers during WW II. His favorite hobby was golf, and he enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Kirchwehm of Washington, IA, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Harry J. Kirchwehm III, and Dr. William W. Kirchwehm.
