Helen Buch

Helen Buch, age 78, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Stephen C. Page officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Prayer for a Christian Wake at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Mercy Hospital Hospice in Iowa City. Cards and memorials can be sent to 2876 170th Street, New Sharon, Iowa 50207.

Helen was born on August 4, 1933 in Glen Lyon, Pennsylvania to Peter and Helen Pietkiewicz Turek. She married Eugene "Gene" E. Buch on October 29, 1955. He passed away May 2, 2010.

She was a secretary at Morton Building for 25 years. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar & Rosary Society, a volunteer at Bargain Box and also worked at the gift shop at Jefferson County Health Center. She loved her family, attending ballgames and was an avid Power Wagon fan.

Helen is survived by 4 children: Scott (Carolyn) Buch of Fairfield, David Buch of Fairfield, Laura Buch of New Sharon and Barbara (Danny) Miller of Fairfield, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters: Eleanor Adasczik of Scranton, Pennsylvania and Anna Lange of Three Oaks, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 sister: Florence Cimini and 2 brothers: Peter and Leonard Turek.
