Helen Franklin

Helen Franklin, age 81, previously of Galesburg, IL, and recently of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Celebration of Life services were 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield with Rev. B.B. Rail officiating.

Helen Franklin was born May 31, 1926 in Winchendon, Massachusetts to George and Helen (Williams) Harden. She married Perry Franklin September 16, 1949. They are the parents of seven children. Perry died May 21, 1981. Helen was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, one son and their families: Mary McDonald and husband Rex of Galesburg, IL, Retha Bush of Fairfield, Bill Franklin and wife Debbie of Fairfield, and Jenny England of Galesburg, IL, as well as 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Helen in death are her parents, husband, daughter Lockie Gilbreath, and two infants: Rosaline Franklin and Wesley Franklin.
