Irene E. Edwards, age 85, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
Funeral services were held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Cremation followed the service.

Irene Drueke Edwards was born January 11, 1922 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Drueke. She married Wesley Edwards, Sr. on March 3, 1946. They moved to Fairfield in 1947 and owned and operated Golden Cream Dairy. They later owned operated Home Town Dairy.
Mrs. Edwards always worked with her husband until his death in 1976. At that time, she started working for Pep Stop in Fairfield where she celebrated over 25 years of service.
Irene was a 60 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, the Ladies Eagles Auxiliary, and also the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved being around family and friends, painting, playing 31, going on weekend rides with her son, and shopping with her daughter.
Survivors include one son, Wesley Edwards, Jr. and one daughter, Sandy (Larry) Worley of Fairfield, three grandchildren; Shawn (Tara) Worley of Stockport, Kent (Staci) Worley of Fairfield, and Scott Worley of Fairfield, and two great-grandchildren: Ashlyn Sage Worley of Stockport and Landon Michael Worley of Fairfield.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Joseph Drueke, Jr. of Keokuk.
