Irma M. Hanen

Irma M. Hanen, age 70, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation with the family will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 26, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, Spetember 27, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Elmore officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Douds.

Irma M. Hanen was born September 10, 1938 in Iowa City, IA to Harold and Marguarite (Rose) Wright. She was united in marriage with Emmett Haynes, who preceded her in death in March of 1989. Irma later married Oren 'Big' Hanen, who also preceded her in death on March 22, 2000.

Irma was a devoted homemaker and was also employed at the Ordinance Plant in West Burlington, IA. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and her hobbies included fishing, riding horses, camping and crocheting blankets.

Surviving Irma are her children and their families: Linda Woodburn and husband Bill of Fairfield, Janet Sell of Des Moines, IA, and Billy Hanen, Bobby Hanen and Ronnie Hanen, all of Fairfield. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Michael Hanen, brother Junior Wright, and sister Darnelle Chew.
