James "Jim" Roy Davis

James “Jim” Roy Davis age 60 of Fairfield, passed away April 28, 2023, at the Jefferson County Health Center.

Jim was born November 11, 1962, in Keosauqua, Iowa to William Orville and Donna Jean (Jackson) Davis.  He married Brenda Kay Lyons on October 26.2007.

Jim and Brenda owned J & B Lawn Service for 10 years until he had to retire due to his health. He also enjoyed working in the garden.  Jim was a huge Garth Brooks fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR and rodeos.

He loved spending time with his family especially his kids and grandkids.  Jim will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda of Fairfield; his children, Tabetha (Nathan) Lyons Wilson of Donnellson, Toni (Ryan) Bruegge Shedenhelm of Ottumwa, Tyler Bruegge of Omaha, NE and Sarah (Mark) Bruegge of Fairfield, Iowa; five grandchildren, Kyra Jo Mercer, Korbin Richard Wilson, Kael Emmatt Wilson, Sophia Grace Shedenhelm and Zoey Faith Shedenhelm; four siblings, Jo Etta Cole and Shirley (Steve) Brecount both of Fort Madison, William “Bill” Davis of Monmouth, IL and Pam (Mark) Meyer of Keosauqua, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Donna; and one brother, Marvin Dale Davis.

Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Behner Funeral Home.  Cremation will follow the visitation.

A Graveside celebration of life will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Green Glade Cemetery, in Farmington with words of comfort by Allen Melcher.
