Jennesse McClaran age 87 formerly of Birmingham passed away Dec. 24, 2008 at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, Iowa.

Funeral Services for Jennesse McClaran will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday Dec. 27, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Pastor Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham. A luncheon with the family will follow interment at the Birmingham Lion's Building.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday Dec. 27, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Jennesse McClaran was born March 21, 1921 to Ira and Kathryn Holmes Jameson in Winchester, IA. She married Robert Paul McClaran on December. 9, 1939. He died April 22, 1983.

Jennessee was a life long resident of the Jefferson and Van Buren counties, with her last year in Keosauqua. Jennesse and her husband owned and operated the Birmingham Cafe for 15 years. She had worked for Fairfield Laundry, a Janitor for Fairfield Line, and worked for Ordinance plant. Jennesse was a member of Birmingham Presbyterian Church.

Jennesse is survived by her five children and their famlies: Carolyn (Lloyd) Balmer of Keosauqua, IA, Robert E. (Judy) McClaran of Birmingham,IA, Dolores (Jerry) Watson of Lockridge, IA, Jerald (Gail) McClaran of Fairfield, IA, Joyce Meade of Richland, IA, 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchidren and one sister, Martha Jane Campbell of Burlington,IA.

Jennesse was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one great grandson.
