Jimmy "Jim" Lee Barker

Jimmy “Jim” Lee Barker 81 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Per his wishes he has been cremated.  Visitation will be 12:30 pm – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Behner Funeral Home.  Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Ed Conwell.  Burial of cremains will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Maple Hill Cemetery or Jefferson County Public Health and mailed to John Barker, 2286 Glasgow Road, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Jim was born April 19, 1938, in Fairfield to Fred and Elsie (Ferguson) Barker.

Jim has lived in the Fairfield area all his life.  He was a retired farm hand.  Jim loved being outside hunting, fishing, gardening and mowing lawn.  His inside interests were watching old TV westerns, playing cards and coloring.  Most important to Jim was family gatherings and meals.

He will be missed by his siblings, John Barker and Alice Barker both of Fairfield, Marie (Gale) Carter of Hillsboro, and Nancy (Douglas) Oldfield of Wellman; and a niece and nephew.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elsie; two sisters, Martha and Mary Beth; and one brother, Jackie.
