Julia Marie Gordon Beale

Julia Marie Gordon Beale, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Fairfield, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

Julia was born in Upton, Massachusetts on September 30, 1921, the daughter of Dominic and Amelia (Fenio) Lamanuzzi. She was the middle child of 9 other siblings.

She graduated from Upton, MA High school in 1939. Following high school she volunteered for the American Red Cross helping the ill and injured.

Julia married Elmer peter ('bud') Gordon in May of 1945 in Worcester, Massachusetts. They made their home in Tucson, Arizona where they raised their family. She was a loving mother of three children and a grandmother to her 14 grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a loving wife.

Through her life she volunteered as a ‘baby rocker’ for the hospital auxiliary and was a member of the lions club with her husband. Julia’s hobbies included traveling, sewing, cooking, gardening, playing bridge and bowling with her friends and husband.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with her family in Tucson. Following her husband’s retirement, Julia and Bud became active in real estate. She was widowed in 1994.

Julia went on to remarry in 2001 to William j. Beale in Prescott, AZ. they enjoyed traveling to many different states and countries, going deep sea fishing and spending time together.

she is survived by one sister, Ann calkins of Tucson, AZ., her three children, daughter Patricia Gordon Anderson (husband Andy) of Gilbert, AZ., her son Bruce Gordon (wife Susan) of Salado, TX, daughter Deborah Gordon Farrell of Fairfield, IA, 13 grandchildren , 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer Gordon, husband William Beale, 2 sisters, 6 brothers, 1 grandson, 1 niece, 1 nephew.

Julia was an elegant, classy lady that will be deeply missed. She was loved for with her quick wit and feisty personality. A celebration of life for Julia will be planned for her family and friends to join together at a later date in Arizona.
