Julius Floyd Diers

Julius Floyd Diers, age 94, passed away on September 12, 2010.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Word of Life Lutheran Church on Libertyville Road, in Fairfield, with Pastor Jamie Strickler and Pastor Phil Barker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Word of Life Lutheran Church or Hospice of Central Iowa. Cards and memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 326 Brighton, Iowa 52540.

Julius was born October 6, 1915 to Frank and Elizabeth Crile Diers of the Richwoods Community of Jefferson County. He married Margaret Hollander on April 5, 1942. She passed away on July 1, 1998.

Mr. Diers is survived by 4 children: Julianna Diers (Cathy Buchanan) of Sparks, Nevada, Rose (Larry) Wilson of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Carolyn (Dan) Schlicher of Brighton, Iowa and Larry (Terri) Diers of Brighton, Iowa, 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 5 step great grandchildren.
