June Rosamond Neff

June R. Neff, age 90, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, IA.

Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, with Pastor Suzanne Swahn officiating. Burial followed in Northill Cemetery in Wayland.

The family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

June R. Neff was born March 18, 1917 to John E. and Winifred (Shellhorn) Dempsey. She married Charles Frederick Neff in Kahoka, MO on October 22, 1938. They are the parents of two daughters: Kathy and Judy. Charles passed away January 7, 2005.

June lived most of her life in Fairfield, graduating from Fairfield High School in 1935. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. June was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ of Fairfield and the Hannah-Ruth Fairfield Chapter Order of the Eastern Star .

June is survived by her daughters and their families: Kathy Neff of Olathe, KS, and Judy Snyder and husband Eugene of Keosauqua, IA, two grandchildren; Dena Snyder of Las Vegas, NV, and Kim Hornberg and husband Dale of Birmingham, IA, as well as three great-grandsons; Jesse Snyder, and Zach and Tanner Hornberg. Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Arnold of Volant, PA, and two brothers; John Dempsey of Temple, TX, and Bill Dempsey of Girard, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and infant sister, Louise.
