Kenneth Thomas Coffin

Family visitation will be held 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, November 25, 2005 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Pastor Angela Hancock officiated.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Fairfield High School Library.

Kenneth Thomas Coffin was born February 25, 1923 in a farmhouse in rural Fairfield, Iowa, the son of John and Ivy (Waters) Coffin. He attended Fairfield High School and graduated with the class of 1940. Kenneth married Betty Joanne Clingan at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on February 23, 1955. They were the parents of two daughters, Kim and Kristi. Betty passed away in September 1997. Kenneth later married Eileen Spray on June 10, 2001.

Kenneth was a farmer, an electrician and a bus driver for the Fairfield School District for 27 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Richland Lion's Club.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Eileen of Richland, IA and his two daughters,and their families: Kim Woods and husband Bryan of Kimball, NE and Kristi Coffin of Denver, CO. Kenneth was grandfather to Steven Mercer, Joni Bonar, and Courtney and Megan Woods and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Pearl Waugh of Fairfield, IA.

Survivors include his stepchildren and their families: Glenda Hunt of Kirksville, MO, Dolores Hope White of Alta Loma, CA, Deanna Spray of Hallsville, MO, Gordon Spray of Port St.Lucie, FL, Shelli Spray of Vancouver, WA and Steven Spray of Jay, FL. Kenneth had 23 step-grandchildren and 16 step-greatgrandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, 2 stepsons, Randy and Rick Spray, 4 brothers: Willard, Lester, Johnny and Raymond Coffin and 2 sisters: Blanch Waters and Mary Boughner.
