Kenneth O. Schock, age 80, of Fairfied, IA, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2009 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. His body has been cremated.

Family visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 16 at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Cary officiation. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Kenneth Owen Schock was born on Valentine's Day, 1929 in Keokuk, IA to Elmer D. and Bernice (Russell) Schock. He was united in marriage with Betty Townsend January 15, 1978 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.

Mr. Schock retired as General Manager of Ideal Ready Mix in Fairfield after 54 years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Fairfield, as well as B.P.O.E. #1192, Walton Club and the Lions Club. In his younger years he raced stock cars, and his later hobbies included golf, hunting, fishing and boating. He enjoyed his work and visiting with people.

Surviving Mr. Schock are his wife, Betty, of Fairfield, and his children and their families: Craig O. Schock of Keokuk, IA, Kathy Jo Schock Hahn and husband Harold of Fairfield, and stepchildren; Dixie Lewis and husband Tom of Davenport, IA, and Ron Townsend and wife Lynn of Arlington, TX. He was blessed with four grandchildren: Pam K. Septer, Dustin C. Schock, Michelle L. Buch, Anthony M. Buch; and step-grandchildren: Dina & Kyle Luthans, Julie & Bill Thielen, John Townsend, Eric Eickman, Jeff Eickman, and eight great-grandchildren. Survivors include a brother, Murry R. Schock and wife Anne of Kahoka, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons Gary and Larry Schock, two sisters and one brother: Joy Schock, Xena Schock Myers, and Roger Schock.
