Larry E. Gaus

Larry E. Gaus, age 63, of Fairfield, passed away early Saturday, September 2, 2006.

Funeral services were held 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Richard K. Wallarab officiating. His body was cremated following the service.

The family wishes memorials, in lieu of flowers, to be made to the American Diabetes Association, or Walton Golf Club.

Larry E. Gaus was born in Lewistown, MO on January 16, 1943. He was the son of Leo and Mildred (Lewis) Gaus. Larry was a member of the Fairfield community for 40 years.

Larry was previously married to Linda Huebotter, who passed away September 29, 2002. He was united in marriage with Gail Koch Carcia December 13, 1986 in Van Buren County.

Larry was foreman and supervisor with Performance Pipe, and also owned and operated Ben's Honda. Since retirement, he had a lawn care service.

Larry was a board member of Walton Club, and a member of B.P.O.E. #1192, Eagles Lodge #1927 and the V.F.W. post #2271, all of Fairfield. His hobbies included NASCAR, motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and golf. Larry enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and his pets, Maggie, Cricket and Max.

Larry is survived by his wife, Gail, of Fairfield, his parents, Leo Gaus and Mildred Lewis Gaus, both of Lewistown, MO and his daughter, Lori (Kent) Strange of Knox City, MO. Larry was grandfather to Jillian and Jennah Strange. Survivors include two sisters and one brother: Judy Doran of Ewing, MO, Brenda Vaughn, also of Ewing and Bill Gaus of Omaha, NE, and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Gaus.
