LaVerne F. Pyle, aged 85 of Fairfield, passed away at Parkview Care Center, Saturday, June 3, 2006.
Funeral Services were held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield. Rev. Jim Wotherspoon officiated. Burial, with military rites, followed in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, IA.

LaVerne F. Pyle was born April 28, 1921 in Eldon, Iowa, the son of Eschel and Virgie (Lester) Pyle. He graduated from Eldon High School and attended one year of the Iowa Success School in Ottumwa. LaVerne married Frances W. Feldman on November 19, 1944 in Bentenville, SC. They are the parents of two daughters: Linda and Jeannie.
LaVerne was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He owned and operated Pyle's Dry Cleaners in Eldon for 10 years and repaired bicycles at his own Pyle Bike Shop for 18 years. LaVerne was a member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW Post #2271 in Fairfield. He was an accomplished musician, playing the accordion, the musical keyboard and Saw. LaVerne enjoyed woodworking and made his own puppets. He was a well known local ventriloquist, along with his partner, "Arky".
LaVerne is survived by his wife, Frances and their daughters: Linda Louise Harwood of Fairfield, IA and Jeannie Lou Tritt of Houma, LA. Laverne has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Survivors include one sister, Ardith Russell of Burlington, IA.
LaVerne was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Larue Pyle.
