Lawrence Miner

Lawrence Miner age 97, of Stockport, Ia. passed away Thursday January 28, 2010 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, Ia.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday February 2, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Ia. with words of comfort by Pastor Larry Smith. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport, Iowa.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 Tuesday February 2, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home.

Lawrence Miner was born June 7, 1912 to Lloyd Miner and Sarah Wells in Kyles Ford, Tennessee. He married Marjorie Humphrey on July 20, 1932 in Memphis, Missouri. She died August 1, 2009.

Lawrence lived all of his life in the Stockport area and was a long time farmer. He was also active in the Van Buren County FFA and 4-H and was a member of the Angus Livestock Association. He was an Angus Livestock Dealer and a Quarter Horse Dealer.

Lawrence is survived by 4 sons Tom Miner and Lloyd Miner of Stockport, Larry (Carol) Miner of Fairfield and Tim (Sharon) Miner of Richland, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 infant son Jimmie and 1 infant daughter Janyce, 3 brothers Frank (Butch), Harry and Lloyd Miner and 2 sisters Flora Wheatley and Elnora McDowell.
