Leonard Dwain Scotton

Leonard D. Scotton, age 58, of Birmingham, died Monday, September 1, 2008 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. His body will be cremated following organ donation.

Family visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 5, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00, Friday the 6th at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Leonard Dwain Scotton was born in Fairfield, IA on April 23, 1950, the son of Dwain and Violet (Hagans) Scotton. He married Bonnie Jester in Fairfield on June 3, 1972.

He served in the United States Army, and was a truck driver for FedEx. He was a member of Eagles Lodge $1927.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Birmingham, and their children and families: Jodi McLain and husband Terry of Douds, IA, Jeremy Scotton and wife Michelle of Olathe, KS, James Scotton and wife Anna of Fairfield and five grandchildren: Colin Pumphrey, Tiney McLain, Adisson McLain, Jacob Scotton, and Adrian Scotton. Survivors include sister Donna Workman and husband Bill of Fairfield, and brother John Scotton and wife Donna of Brighton, IA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joyce Scotton and a brother, Jerry Scotton.
