Letha Jeannette Brown age 72, of Lockridge, Iowa passed away May 23, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, in Iowa City.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday May 29, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Shipley officiating. Burial will be at Spencer Cemetery Northeast of Stockport, Iowa.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday May 28, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. Memorials and cards can be sent to 303 N. Center St. Lockridge, Iowa 52635.
Letha Jeannette Brown was born November 17, 1941 to Harold and P. Opal Wilson Crenshaw. She married Kenneth Brown on June 25, 1960 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Ia. He died December 19, 2002.
Letha was a life long resident of Van Buren and Jefferson counties. She worked for Fairfield livestock sale barn for 20 years, V & J pigs hog confinement for 6 years, She helped her husband with farming by driving tractors and trucks. Letha enjoyed playing Bingo, and Farmall / International tractors, and all her farm animals. She was member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batavia.
Letha is survived by: her 5 children and families, James (Patty) Brown of Fairfield,Ia., Joseph (Karen) Brown of Batavia,Ia., Julie (Larry) Horton of Lockridge,Ia., Jeanette (Randy) Nitschke of Batavia,Ia., Jonathan (Stacie) Brown of Lockridge, Ia. 17 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren,14 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren.
Letha was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1 sister Reba Crenshaw, 1 great grandchild, 1 step grandchild, 1 step great grandchild.
