Linda Joyce Caviness Liles

Linda Joyce Caviness Liles, age 71 of Packwood, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Packwood Christian Church with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to K-9 Fund for the Jefferson County Law Center, Iowa Hospice of Oskaloosa or Pekin's Dollars for Scholars. Cards and memorials can be sent to Mychelle Clark at 2363 Allan Drive Road, Decorah, Iowa 52101.

Linda was born on May 6, 1941 in Packwood, to Donald George Caviness and Winifred Alberta Murphy Ancell. She married Claude Nicholson on November 19, 1959 and they later divorced. She married Randy Liles on January 12, 1985 in Fairfield.

She graduated from Packwood High School in 1959. Linda had a passion for taking care of the elderly because of her love for her Aunt Bertha. She went to school and became an R.N. and was the D.O.N. of Nelson's Nursing Home for many years. She became a Hospice Nurse before retiring. Before her health declined, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren in sports, reading, working in her flower gardens and feeding and watching her birds. She was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley and Rusty Wallace of NASCAR.

Linda is survived by her husband: Randy Liles of Packwood, 4 children: Mychelle (David) Clark of Decorah, Mike Nicholson of Richland, Duffy Nicholson of Packwood and Monty (Michelle) Nicholson of Richland, 8 grandchildren: Kadie (Mike) Archer, David Kane, Chelsea Nicholson, Jordan Nicholson, Allison Nicholson, Jaydan Nicholson, Jacob Nicholson and Trevor Nicholson, 2 step-grandchildren: Samantha Clark and Dirk Clark, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 due in November and 9 siblings: Diane (Kip) Johnson of Decorah, Don (Kathy) Caviness of Knoxville, Margaret McVay of Oakville, Myrna Newcomb of Decorah, Trudy (Mark) Sheetz of Sigourney, Rita (Jim) Erickson of Paynesville, Minnesota, Tim Caviness of Oakville, Judy (Dennis) Sobaski of Fairfield and Sheila (Rick) Peck of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
