Lorene Marie Shipley

Lorene Marie Shipley, age 72 of Douds, died Sunday February 12, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua, Ia.

Private burial of cremains will be at a later date.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established. Memorials and Cards may be sent to : 11833 Hickory Ave. Birmingham, Iowa 52535.

According to her wishes her body has been cremated.

Lorene was born July 30, 1939 in rural Douds, Iowa to Claude and Ella Mae Laughlin Findlay. She married Harley R. "Bud" Shipley on July 9, 1955. He died in June of 1987.

She was a school bus driver for Van Buren Community School District for 16 years and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading.

Lorene is survived by three children and spouses: Bill (Jodie) Shipley of Birmingham, Ia., Kathy Shipley of Douds, Ia., and Ken (Bonita) Shipley of Des Moines, Ia. 2 grandchildren, Sheena Shipley & Shea Shipley, a sister Irene Nelson of Milton, Ia. a brother Cliff (Della) Findlay of Moline, Il. and 13 nieces and nephews.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 3 brothers Earl, Ronald, and Hugh Findlay.
