Loretta L. (Hunter) Carr

Loretta L. Carr, age 84, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Funeral services were held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Stephen Page officiating. Interment was in Lockridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Augustana Lutheran Church, or the Lockridge Senior Center.

Loretta L. Carr was born January 19, 1923 in Lockridge, IA, the daughter of Milan Chester and Lucinda Ruth (Peterson) Carlson. She graduated from Lockridge High School in 1940.

Loretta was united in marriage with Walter H. Hunter on March 6, 1949. They are the parents of three children: Jeffrey, Randall, and Monte. Walter passed away June 19, 1973, and Loretta was married to Thomas Carr March 7, 1980. Tom died September, 2006.

Loretta was a long time employee of the Fairfield Hotel, and a member of the First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge. She enjoyed watching Cardinal's Baseball and Little League teams. Loretta also enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning.

Loretta is survived by her sons and their families: Jeff & wife Patti Hunter, Randy Hunter and Janet , all of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Monte and wife Elizabeth Hunter of Fairfield, IA. Loretta has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding Loretta in death are her parents, and her husbands, Walter and Tom.
