Lorraine K. Barton, age 85 of Libertyville, IA, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 25, 2006.

Funeral services were held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville with Pastor Mike Renken officiating. Burial was in Fell Cemetery.

The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers to be made to Faith United Methodist Church of Libertyville.

Lorraine K. Barton was born January 10, 1921 in Mt. Pleasant, IA, the daughter of William and Jessie (Carver) Kirk. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and married DeWayne L. Barton on December 29, 1939. They are the parents of three children: Larry, Dennis and Carol.

DeWayne and Lorraine lived all of their married life in Jefferson County. Lorraine was a secretary of Dexter Company. She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church. Lorraine enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and gardening.

Lorraine is survived by her husband DeWayne of Libertyville, and their children and families: Larry Barton of Fairfield, Dennis and Connie Barton of Libertyville, and Carol Streed of Des Moines, IA. Lorraine has five grandchildren: Mark Streed, Angela Copeland, Kristin Streed, Rick Barton, and Shannon Streed. She was great-grandmother to Kirby and Adam Copeland, and Shelby, Ashlyn and Adam Streed. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters: Annona Jones, Neal Kirk, Wanda Schramm, Allen Kirk, Norlan Kirk and Betty Brooks.
