Lottie Jane Cox

Lottie J. Cox, age 85, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, September 15, 2008 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. Following her wishes, her body has been cremated.

Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 19, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, with inurnment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Lottie Jane Cox was born June 8, 1923 in Wapello County to S. Ben and Jane (Jones) Winfrey. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1940, and married Ray Cox on January 19, 1941, and was a homemaker. They later divorced.

Surviving Lottie are her children and their families: Sharyn Yeoman and husband Delbert of Fairfield, and Teresa Gaylord and husband Nat of Gardner, KS. Lottie was blessed with eleven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Danny J. Cox, great-grandson Justin, two sisters; Ruby Winfrey and Jewel Campbell, and three brothers; James Winfrey, Charlie Winfrey, and Bennie Winfrey.
