Louise Irene Schillerstrom

Louise Irene Schillerstrom, aged 90, of Fairfield, passed away May 9, 2007 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, IA.

Funeral services were held 10:30 AM, Monday, May 14, 2007 at the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Louise Irene Schillerstrom was born July 13, 1916 near Brighton, IA, the daughter of John and Katie (Miller) Burger. She was united in marriage with Joseph Schillerstrom on August 24, 1937. They are the parents of two children: Joyce and Jerry. Joseph passed away in 1980.

Louise was employed by Parkview Care Center in the Dietary Dept. for 18 years until her retirement. She was one of the first residents at the CALU Apts when it opened in 1984. She lived there 23 years. Louise was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary, and the Merry Makers Club. Louise enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening and flowers, playing cards, family reunions, and family trees.

Louise is survived by her children and their families: Joyce Tangie and husband Albert of Albia, IA, and Jerry Schillerstrom and wife Rose of rural Fairfield, IA. Louise has four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandsons. Survivors include two sisters: Vera Luedtke of Fairfield, and Ruth Wiggins of Princeton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Edith Gilbert.
