Lucile B. Hining, age 87, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Family visitation will be held 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 25, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 26 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Pastor Monte Knudsen officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to Faith Christian Outreach Church of Mt. Pleasant, or Amenity Hospice of Cedar Rapids, IA. Cards and memorials may be sent c/o:

Lucile Bernice Hining was born August 24, 1920 in Lick Creek Township, Van Buren County, IA to Charles M. and Merle H. (Johnson) Lewis. She was united in marriage with Glendon Lorain Hining in Princeton, MO on April 11, 1942. He passed away September 4, 1987.

Lucile was a member of the Fairfield community most of her life. She was a cook at the Fairfield High School for over 20 years. She had made her residence in Mt. Pleasant since 1996 and was a member of Faith Outreach Christian Church. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, cooking, traveling, and playing cards. Her special enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and their families.

Surviving Lucile are her daughter and her family: Glenda Egli and husband Darrell Columbus Junction, IA. She was blessed with two grandchildren: Jennifer Batty and Jason Egli, and seven great-grandchildren.

Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Roy Lewis, and three sisters; Mary Kawano, Beulah Lewis and an infant sister.
