Lucille Anna Fillinger

Lucille A. Fillinger, age 91, of Lockridge, IA, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Monday October 5, 2009 at the Lockridge Baptist Church in Lockridge, with Rev. Robert P. Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery.

Family visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday October 4, 2009 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Lucille Anna Fillinger was born March 4, 1918 in Hillsboro, IA, to Frank and Clara (Lee) Spray. She married Gilbert J. Fillinger on August 16, 1940 in Memphis, MO. He preceded her in death April 11, 1978.

Lucille lived most of her life in the Jefferson County area. She graduated from Fairfield High School with the Class of 1938. She helped farm and was a homemaker for the family. Lucille's hobbies included embroidering and cross stitching, and she was a member of Lockridge Baptist Church.

Lucille is survived by three sons: Donald James (Donna) Fillinger, Gary (Linda) Fillinger both of Lockridge, IA, and Ronald (Karen) Fillinger of New London, IA. Lucille was blessed with two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren. Survivors include her sister Wilma (Raymond) Swanson of Mt. Pleasant, IA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Spray, and grandson Anthony.
