Lucy Jane Luedtke

Lucy J. Luedtke, age 66, of Mason City, IA, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, April 13, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Lucy Jane Luedtke was born in Fairfield, IA on December 29, 1942 to Nove and Ethel (HInes) Harper. She attended Fairfield schools. She married William Robert Cowger July 5, 1962. He preceded her in death September 30, 1977. Lucy later married Donald Luedtke, Sr. and they divorced. She was employed by PBS Cleaning Services.

Lucy is survived by her children and their families: Monte Cowger of Mason City, Laura (Joe) Hesse of Bettendorf, IA, Kevin Cowger of Davenport, IA, Kathy Painter of Racine, WI, Donald Luedtke, Jr. of Mason, City, and Melissa (Dan) Harris, of Mason City. Lucy was blessed with six grandchildren. Survivors include four sisters: Janice Nelson of Davenport, IA, Janit Waage of Davenport, Helen Pinkerton of Ewing, MO, and Judy Mellott of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Brenda Mae Cowger; six brothers and three sisters: Hubert, Lawrence, Jim, Bessy, Mildred, Velma, Nova, Jr., Whetsel and Lester 'Sid'.
