Mada Irene Griffin

Mada Irene Griffin passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics.

A celebration of Life will be held at the Fairfield VFW on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Cremains will be buried at a later date.

Mada was born to Thomas J. and Issie Pearl (Peck) Giberson on September 7, 1926 in Stockport, IA. She attended Van Buren Community Schools.

Mada married Conrad Pool on March 1947. They later divorced. She married Raymond Griffin September 25, 1974. They also divorced.

Mada worked at J&B Plastics and Fairfield Country Club over her life time.

Mada loved to spend time with her family and her cat. She had a great sense of humor and loved to tell stories about her life. In her younger years she traveled and had a special love of the mountains.

Mada is survived by sons, Ronald Pool and Randall (Roenna) Pool of Fairfield, IA; 1 daughter, Joyce (Les) Schaappveld of Lone Tree, IA. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters, one brother, a son, Thomas Pool and a great great granddaughter, Kaelah.
